About The Position

This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Requirements

3+ years of relevant Manufacturing experience.
This is a union-represented position.

Nice To Haves

Mid-Level (Level 3): 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree
Engineering degree from an accredited university
Experience with manufacturing engineering
Previous Aerospace assembly knowledge
SAP knowledge
MES (DELMIA Apriso) knowledge
Experience with CATIA programs

Responsibilities

Provide planning for Removals process. Removals are used to authorize and document steps taken to investigate a suspected condition or authorized rework, by removing previously installed and accepted parts or hardware, determining if additional actions are required.
Ability to review discrepancies and determine steps needed for the removal process and establish detailed planning steps to accomplish the tasks.
Ability to work in a cross-functional setting to come up with the optimal solution to the problem.
Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material.
Communicates with Quality, Project Planning, Operations, and Liaison engineering teams to ensure all requirements are captured, planned executed accordingly.
Has the ability to demonstrate configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build plan.
Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Machining, Sheet Metal, Systems and Structures.
