About The Position

The Manufacturing Operator works at Abbott’s Altavista, Virginia plant in the Abbott Nutrition division, which produces science-based nutrition products for people of all ages. The plant uses advanced technology to manufacture nutrition products and supports Abbott’s portfolio of brands, including Similac, PediaSure, Pedialyte, Ensure, and Glucerna.

The role operates high-speed production equipment and supports safe, compliant manufacturing. The operator is accountable for meeting FDA, OSHA, and Abbott policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 6 months of prior manufacturing experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Analytical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to multitask.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutrition products.
• Experience with tools and equipment related to the position, or experience as a Senior Production Equipment Operator.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate complex and standard high-speed production equipment used to make nutrition products.
• Maintain inventory of packaging materials.
• Complete work-order documentation.
• Perform quality checks.
• Clean equipment and the production environment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Meet applicable FDA, OSHA, and Abbott compliance standards and procedures.
