About The Position

Heroux-Devtek is an international leader in aviation and the world's 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serving civil and military aerospace markets. The Strongsville facility, a center of excellence for landing gear final assembly, has over 110 employees and spans 100,000 sq. ft. This role is part of the Central Division and will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations for major commercial aircraft programs (Boeing 777, Embraer E-2) and important military programs (F-18, F-35, C-17, C-130). The company focuses on the latest manufacturing technologies, including machining automation and techniques, to remain the best value producer of complex landing gear components.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
  • Possess a solid foundation in manufacturing engineering practices and processes.
  • Computer software literacy (Office, Catia V5, Microsoft Project).

Nice To Haves

  • Preference in the aerospace industry.
  • Familiarity with BaaN or SAP a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Formulating manufacturing process plans using Bills of Material, Project Development Schedules, and Operation Detail Sheets.
  • Investigating the entry of the above into the MRP system – BaaN.
  • Reviewing Contract Review forms for accuracy to the quote.
  • Liaising with customers regarding part revision changes and informing pertinent departments by incorporating these changes into the Master Process Plan.
  • Initiating the design and purchase of fixtures, special tools and handling equipment required.
  • Developing rework schemes.
  • Studying and improving the manufacturing process by monitoring quality, cycle times and methods of operations.
  • Working with operators on the floor to develop solutions or process improvements.
  • Documenting and maintaining traceability in accordance with all quality standards, such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
