About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Manufacturing Manager (Level K) to support the Aerospace Composites Center (ACC) in Hazelwood, MO! The Aerospace Composites Center has state-of-the-art enabled capabilities and operates to support Boeing’s Fighter Programs. The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations in a fabrication or manufacturing environment. This role focuses on leading frontline teams, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards, while meeting production goals and schedules.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
  • High School diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing
  • 3+ years of experience with process improvement and lean manufacturing
  • Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and/or a union represented workforce
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, or equivalent work or military experience
  • Experience with special processes including heat treatment of metals, welding and chemical processes
  • Experience with Composites Fabrication
  • Experience in a leadership role driving organizational and operational change management
  • Experience achieving planned business goals and objectives and improvement activities utilizing Boeing Production System (BPS) or Lean Manufacturing principles and processes

Responsibilities

  • Manages employees performing activities in multiple manufacturing disciplines
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies
  • Acquires resources, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
  • Manages, develops and motivates employees
