About The Position

At Doncasters, we have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Manager to join our team in Groton, CT. The Manufacturing Manager will be accountable for the operations, process, and delivery of product on a designated shift (1st or 2nd). Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Science or Manufacturing Technology with 5 or more years of experience, and at least 2 years managing a group. Or 10 years of Manufacturing Management experience in lieu of degree.
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced PC skills and knowledge of ERP Systems.
  • Thorough knowledge of investment casting technology, processes and manufacturing methods, based upon 5 years minimum experience in the engineering, manufacture and/or application of investment castings.
  • Proven ability to lead, build and develop teams that consist of skilled roles
  • Proven ability to deliver on time in full, influencing other departments to support achievement of objectives
  • Experience with world class manufacturing process, and methods, Lean, Kaizen, 6s, TMP (talent management program), and other advance manufacturing methodologies, tools and concepts
  • Experience at leading production personnel staffing, reviews and goal settings

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for designated product mix, developing a skilled and motivated workforce to support achievement of objectives.
  • Maximize productivity through achieving operational standard hours, booking operations, monitoring recoveries, investigating underperformance and taking corrective action.
  • Responsible for recommendation and implementation of capital requirements, new manufacturing operations and methods, special projects or programs designed to increase productivity, reduce costs or improve quality.
  • Develop and execute a plan to increase overall engineering and production competitiveness, through innovation and new techniques to establish a highly competitive lean organization.
  • Optimization of factory performance and efficiency, ensuring that process flow, manufacturing methods, tooling fixtures and equipment utilization are cost-competitive and sustainable.
  • Ensures designated product mix is driven through process to deliver OTIF; utilizing resources such as maintenance, engineering and quality as required.
