About The Position

Prysmian is the world leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry. We manufacture thousands of miles of underground and submarine cables for power transmission and distribution, as well as medium and low voltage cables for construction and infrastructure. Requirements

  • BS/BA in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or related – required.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing or Training – required.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment – required, non-union preferred.
  • Quality and customer focused, versatile and enjoys interaction with customers and other visitors.
  • Motivated Team Player – participate and contribute to a constructive working environment.
  • Demonstrated administrative aptitude, time management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Capable of remaining calm & professional if dealing with stressful circumstances.
  • Able to work a variety of work schedules, including holiday and weekend emergency coverage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Data driven decision maker.
  • Intermediate / Advanced Proficiency in systems including MS Excel, MS Access, SAP.
  • Self-Starter with the ability to push an agenda and be an agent for change.

Nice To Haves

  • Leadership experience in the optical fiber cabling industry – preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement plans that execute the daily production schedule.
  • Hold the organization accountable for hitting daily goals and upholding quality / operational standards.
  • Use SAP and plant capacity models to determine staffing and work schedule requirements.
  • Initiate and participate in plant continuous improvement projects, supporting and driving lean initiatives.
  • Serve as the lead point of contact for industrial relations issues and business communication.
  • Improve the technical and decision-making capabilities of Associates.
  • Coach and develop associates, driving development plans for direct reports and the organization.
  • Use plant data analysis tools for performance metric tracking, reporting, and problem-solving (metrics include safety, quality, people, delivery, inventory, cost, and productivity).
  • Prepare and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly presentations on plant metrics and project status.
  • Participate and coach in Tiered Gemba / SQPDIC process and Layered Process Audits.
  • Conduct plant appearance, 6S, and safety audits.
  • Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems.
  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines; partner with HSE to ensure an injury and illness-free operation and an environmentally compliant site.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.
