DESCRIPTION: As a Manufacturing Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will guide and support teams to deliver excellence in a manufacturing environment. You'll support innovation and continuous improvement while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in producing scientific products. This role combines strategic leadership with operational management, overseeing production processes, quality control, and team development. You'll work across functions to optimize manufacturing efficiency, implement new technologies, and maintain regulatory compliance while contributing to our mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in regulated environments (FDA, GMP, ISO).
  • Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, or related technical field.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in advancing operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making ability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with all organizational levels.
  • Experience with production planning, resource allocation, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and work in cleanroom environments when applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing certification preferred.
  • Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Flexible Leadership Presence: Supports a 3-shift operation with the flexibility to adjust working hours to effectively engage with all shifts and maintain strong team visibility.

Responsibilities

  • Guide and support teams to deliver excellence in a manufacturing environment.
  • Support innovation and continuous improvement while ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in producing scientific products.
  • Oversee production processes, quality control, and team development.
  • Work across functions to optimize manufacturing efficiency, implement new technologies, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and site-specific CI tools for process improvement.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with a deep knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to improve operations and enhance performance.
  • Develop and support team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Manage complex projects.
  • Manage production planning, resource allocation, and budget.
  • Support multiple shifts and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commit to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
