About The Position

At Sweet Candy Company, the mission is to “Make Life Sweet.” In maintenance, this is achieved by providing reliable equipment that allows production to create delicious candy for customers. This role is for a highly motivated, experienced packaging maintenance technician to join the day shift maintenance team. The primary focus will be maintaining, improving reliability, and repairing taffy packaging equipment, primarily AMP Rose 42C Cut and Wrap machines. The role will also involve assisting with multi-head scales, vertical baggers, pre-made pouch baggers, cartoners, casepackers, palletizers, robotic packaging equipment, and conveyors. Strong communication skills, the ability to lead by example, willingness to work some overtime, and shift flexibility are highly desired.

Requirements

Strong mechanical skillset.
Manual machining experience.
Strong background in mechanical repair and manual machining.
Experience in troubleshooting factory automation systems including knowledge of controls, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and pneumatics.
Experience in troubleshooting electrical control circuits including knowledge of AC/DC and facility equipment wiring.
3+ years of experience in troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of industrial manufacturing equipment in a similar environment.
Mechanical experience in troubleshooting and repair of pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, piping systems.
Communicate effectively and frequently to all stake holders including; production operators, management, quality, sanitation, human resources, peers and team members.
Customer service and continuous improvement mindset.
MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Maintain, improve reliability, and repair taffy packaging equipment, primarily AMP Rose 42C Cut and Wrap machines.
Assist with multi-head scales, vertical baggers, pre-made pouch baggers, cartoners, casepackers, palletizers, robotic packaging equipment, and conveyors.
Always work safely and follow all safety protocols.
Work in compliance with all GMP, Food Safety and Sanitation standards.
Troubleshoot factory automation systems including controls, PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and pneumatics.
Troubleshoot electrical control circuits including AC/DC and facility equipment wiring.
Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, valves, and piping systems.
Communicate effectively and frequently to all stakeholders including production operators, management, quality, sanitation, human resources, peers, and team members.
