About The Position

This role is responsible for the efficient operation of all production equipment through mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair and preventive maintenance. The technician will also ensure the preventative maintenance program is conducted and report improvements or upgrades. They will provide prompt emergency/unscheduled repairs to minimize downtime and inform facility personnel of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions. Adherence to all OSHA and facility safety rules, including the use of personal protective equipment, and reporting of all injuries, accidents, and hazards is crucial. The role also requires following all established Food Safety guidelines and GMPs, maintaining an orderly and clean work environment, and promoting equipment safety. Reading equipment manuals and other sources of information to ensure appropriate operation and repair, auditing and monitoring systems, equipment logs, program logs, and team effectiveness, and completing and maintaining accurate paperwork are also key responsibilities. The technician will install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems, and read technical diagrams and blueprints. Troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devices is also part of the role.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
10+ years’ experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment, or equivalent military experience.
Must have strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
General mechanical skills and knowledge related to troubleshooting and service of various equipment.
Availability to work any shift with weekend rotation.
Must be able to lift/push 100lbs.
Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
General Electrical and Mechanical experience
Must be able to operate/train to operate a Forklift
Experience with rotating equipment.
Comfortable with computers and job reports

Nice To Haves

Maintenance license and certificates a plus.
Experience with multi-layer extrusion equipment, specifically Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) brand
Experience with printing presses, specifically Windmöller & Hölscher (W&H) brand
Experience with roll slitting machines, specifically Kampf and Deacro brands
Experience with wicketing machines, specifically LEMO brand
Experience with pouching machines, specifically Totani brand

Responsibilities

Control the efficient operation of all production equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic repair and preventive maintenance
Assure the preventative maintenance program is conducted and report improvements or upgrades to our preventative maintenance schedule
Provide emergency/ unscheduled repairs promptly to minimize downtime
Inform the appropriate facility personnel/ supervisor of any necessary modifications or system malfunctions that would affect the area of operation
Observe all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment; report all injuries, accidents, and hazards immediately
Follow all established Food Safety guidelines and GMPs, including maintaining an orderly and clean work environment
Promote equipment safety and develop programs to respond to unexpected or emergencies
Read equipment manuals and other sources of information to assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment
Audit and monitor systems, equipment logs, program logs, and team effectiveness
Monitor, complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed
Install, maintain, and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
Read technical diagrams and blueprints
Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices.
