Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent G.E.D.
- Two (2) years or more related experience with a trade or technical school certificate or relevant experience.
- Understanding of mechanical functioning as well as having operational knowledge of all production machinery, equipment and tooling.
- Experience in at least one specialized skilled maintenance area such as electrical, general maintenance, electronics, mechanical repair.
- Experience troubleshooting complex equipment.
- General understanding of handling hazardous waste
- Comply with OSHA safety and health rules
- Ability to work in confined spaces and elevated height
- Able to lift 70 lbs (wish assistance from peer)
- Able to work outdoors in cold and hot weather
Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance service, maintains production and quality by ensuring reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment
- Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment and plant facility.
- Prepares and performs mechanic duties including but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and repair of production machines and facility ancillary equipment.
- Start up and operate production machinery and equipment for manufacturing pilot run materials and special products
- Read, interpret, and understands equipment manuals, schematic diagrams and blueprints
- Coordinate with contractors and get needed quotes for building improvements
- Support site janitorial activities as needed
