The maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing plant operations' manufacturing equipment. This position will support the maintenance and operations departments by coordinating routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing faulty components, and maintaining accurate and complete records per work instructions. The maintenance technician contributes to HGCs goals and success by ensuring equipment and machinery operate safely and at peak efficiency. This results in minimal production delays to ensure our products are manufactured effectively and safely.

  • Vocational degree, equivalent education, and/or experience in electrical/mechanical fields
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relevant to plant operations is required
  • Skilled in facility systems, equipment operations, and system checks
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, using hand tools, power tools, test meters, and diagnostic equipment
  • Knowledgeable in electrical systems, mechanically inclined, and strong problem-solving abilities
  • A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing maintenance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with robotic controllers and programming automated machinery is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and machine issues
  • Disassemble, repair, clean, and test machinery for proper operation
  • Assist with installing and calibrating new equipment
  • Conduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, maintain accurate records, and analyze and resolve equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns
  • Respond to alerts and perform corrective repairs per SOPs
  • Maintain logs of downtime and manage spare parts inventory
  • Train production staff on basic maintenance procedures
  • Replace faulty mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic parts, and diagnose, repair, or replace defective electronic and electrical components
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery with other technicians
  • Perform test runs, modifications, and repairs using schematics or manuals
  • Ensure proper installation and operation of electrical systems
  • Evaluate jobs in process and on completion to ensure production needs meet safety and work quality expectations
  • Prepares reports documenting work performed
  • Supports the development of internal SOPs as well manuals/guides for other departments on equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
