About The Position

This role is responsible for machine operations and quality control/inspections, specifically focusing on operating a waterjet cutting machine. The operator will set up and run the machine to produce parts according to job orders and blueprints, program machine controls, monitor cutting parameters, and inspect finished parts to verify tolerances. Routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adherence to production quotas are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

• CNC machine experience required.
• Demonstrated background in machine shop operations.
• Ability to read and understand basic G&M code.
• Basic knowledge of cutting tools and perishable tools associated with common types of machining.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and run waterjet cutting machines to produce parts according to job orders and blue prints.
• Program machine controls using CAD/CAM or proprietary software to ensure accurate cutting paths.
• Monitor cutting parameters like water pressure, abrasive flow, and cutting speed to maintain quality and efficiency.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or laser scanners to verify tolerances.
• Perform routine maintenance, including changing abrasive media, cleaning nozzles, pump rebuilds, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine dimensions, tolerances, and cutting sequence.
• Meet production quotas for machined parts.
• Maintain a clean, safe workspace.
• Other duties as assigned.
