About The Position

The Manufacturing Logistics Lead Engineer is responsible for optimizing material management processes, improving operational efficiency, reducing waste, and ensuring high‑quality production. This role involves analyzing current logistics workflows, defining improvement opportunities, developing implementation plans, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to execute and sustain these initiatives. The position combines engineering expertise with supply chain knowledge to improve material flow, reduce costs, enhance delivery performance, and support the production team (supervisors, team leaders, workers).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing process development, or continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
  • Strong expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Bilingual (French, English, or Spanish), written and spoken.
  • Proficiency with Epicor ERP and Microsoft Office Suite (including SharePoint).
  • Expertise in lean material management.
  • Strong initiative in continuous improvement, with excellent organizational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Ability to plan and organize production tasks to meet established goals.
  • Project management skills with experience leading cross‑functional teams.
  • Ability to motivate, coach, and lead a team.
  • Conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end‑to‑end logistics strategies that optimize supply chain performance, cost, and customer delivery.
  • Analyze current logistics flows and identify efficiency improvements using Lean principles, Six Sigma, or automation.
  • Define and execute material flow processes and lead inventory clean‑up initiatives as part of continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead cross‑functional logistics and supply chain projects from planning to execution, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, and budgets.
  • Lead and coordinate the Go‑Live implementation of the Zebra handheld scanning tool across logistics operations.
  • Work with warehousing and inventory teams to streamline operations, improve facility layout, and ensure material availability.
  • Lead the implementation and integration of logistics systems supporting real‑time visibility and process automation (e.g., Zebra scanner deployment, creation of inventory reports).
  • Develop and deliver training for team members on new inventory tools and reporting systems.
  • Define requirements and support the development of an inventory dashboard replacing Excel files.
  • Create work instructions for logistics ERP module usage.
  • Collaborate with receiving and shipping supervisors to help manage the logistics team.
  • Align logistics operations with overall business strategy to support organizational objectives.
  • Identify and resolve production issues related to equipment (forklifts, lifting platforms, racking, etc.), delivery delays, quality defects, or excess inventory.
  • Select, procure, and ensure optimal performance and maintenance of material handling and storage equipment.
  • Define and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve the efficiency and reliability of material flow processes.
  • Redefine roles and responsibilities within the logistics department, including Leads, Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Workers.
  • Plan and lead coordination meetings with employees and team leaders to support alignment and continuous improvement.
