About The Position

The Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing inventory transfers between hubs and spokes. They coordinate transfer operations and the rerouting of inventory to overflow facilities with the various stakeholders, ensuring that timelines and transfer quantities are respected to maintain optimal inventory levels across our distribution centers.

Requirements

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field, plus 5 to 7 years of experience in Logistics and Supply Chain.
  • Experience in a highly seasonal environment and within a hub-and-spoke model.
  • Strong knowledge of replenishment management software.
  • Solid understanding of intermediate inventory management principles.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities, tackle problems, and implement solutions to meet established deadlines.
  • Comfortable analyzing data and identifying discrepancies.
  • Ability to consistently verify data and use analytical skills to ensure the accuracy and validity of figures.
  • Ability to effectively manage priorities during peak periods.
  • Ability to make difficult decisions within a short timeframe based on seasonal requirements.
  • Proficiency in English (advanced level required) for written and verbal communications with primarily English-speaking partners across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor transfers between distribution centers and ensure the planning and timely receipt of inventory within the prescribed deadlines
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with warehouse managers to resolve distribution-related issues, such as transfer delays, irregular transfers, etc.
  • Participate in establishing minimum and maximum inventory levels for all spokes and hubs in collaboration with the Merchandiser and Brand Specialist
  • Validate tires leaving distribution centers and determine the reason for their removal
  • Participate in creating and improving the task schedule for the Purchasing Department
  • Ensure the rerouting of containers to overflow facilities
  • Plan the return of tires from overflow facilities and communicate with the various stakeholders
  • Ensure that shipments sent to rerouting facilities are properly received in the integrated management system; verify that receipts are accurate and take the necessary measures to correct any discrepancies, when required
  • Perform any other related duties.
