About The Position

The Manufacturing Layout Engineer at Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG) serves as a link between design and production, translating plans into manufacturing-ready information. The role involves listing hollow metal doors and frames accurately and ensuring details are complete and clear for execution on the shop floor. The position enters shop drawing information into manufacturing software, evaluates materials and manufacturing criteria, interprets hardware templates, and programs elevations to support efficient machine utilization and production.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, plus two years of additional computer training, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
1–2 years of related programming experience.
Knowledge of software applications.
Understanding of related programming languages and procedures.

Responsibilities

Enter detailed shop drawing information into the designated manufacturing software.
Analyze elevations and material profiles to ensure compatibility with efficient manufacturing techniques.
Accurately interpret and program hardware templates relative to each part.
Maintain tight manufacturing tolerances and adhere to established manufacturing methods.
Evaluate manufacturing factors in relation to shop capabilities, including bend deductions, shear sizes, jig selection, reinforcement needs, and material gauge selection.
Accurately program elevations to optimize machine utilization and select appropriate tools to produce parts.
