About The Position

This role is responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. The technician will operate production equipment, weigh and measure raw materials to ensure correct ingredients and quantities, and assist with in-process testing to meet specifications. Key responsibilities include validating processes and equipment related to filtration, cleaning, and sterilization, as well as the removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids. The position also involves troubleshooting complex scientific operations and creating solutions, powders, and liquids for batches.

Requirements

  • High school with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 3 years laboratory experience, AS degree in a scientific discipline with 2-3 years laboratory experience, or BS degree in a scientific discipline plus 1-2 years laboratory experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Strong time management skills required.
  • Ability to operate independently.
  • Proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products.
  • Operating production equipment.
  • Weighing, measuring, and checking raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
  • Assisting with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
  • Validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration, cleaning and sterilization.
  • Removal and disposal of waste chemicals, solvents and acids.
  • Creating solutions, powders, and liquids for batches to meet specifications.
  • Providing training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures.
  • Providing support to the lead/supervisor when necessary.
  • Providing continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency.
  • Demonstrating the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Following all BD housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Following all BD safety policies and procedures.
  • Working overtime as required to meet BD business requirements.
