About The Position

The Kitchen Prep performs duties related to preparing and processing products according to Stonewall Kitchen recipes, assisting the Lead Cook. The role supports cooks with product cooking and processing, raw-material preparation, kettle preparation, and kettle setup for the filler. It also requires maintaining a clean work area, following company policies and procedures, and cross-training for manufacturing-line and York warehouse work as needed. The position may require working more than 40 hours per week periodically based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at shoulder height.
Ability to bend and stretch in a physically demanding environment and stand for several hours at a time.
Ability to operate electrical and manual pallet jacks and forklifts.
Proficiency in basic math skills.
Ability to operate transfer pumps, electric can openers, and other industrial kitchen equipment.

Nice To Haves

Previous manufacturing experience, especially in the food industry.
Some experience with weights and measures and scales.

Responsibilities

Assist cooks with cooking and processing products in accordance with company standards.
Prepare raw materials and kettles, and set up kettles for the filler.
Weigh, open, measure, transfer, and prepare ingredients for cooks.
Assist cooks as required or instructed to fulfill the daily schedule.
Maintain cleanliness of the work area throughout and at the end of the shift.
Report conditions needing attention to the appropriate manager.
Follow company policies and procedures concerning personnel safety, food safety, quality, GMPs, sanitation, personnel, maintenance, and equipment.
Cross-train to work on the manufacturing line and in the York warehouse as needed.
Follow Module 9, GMP, HACCP, and SOP policies and procedures.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Work more than 40 hours per week periodically when business needs require.
