About The Position

Processing Specialists receive steel and convert it into customer-ordered parts by bending or cutting it with lasers and/or saws. They clean and inspect the material, then load it onto trucks for delivery. The position contributes to a culture of safety by following company safety policies and safe work practices. The role is based at Steel and Pipe Supply’s Kansas City Service Center, where the team processes and stores steel for customers. The work involves exposure to the elements, dirty conditions, and moving machinery in a moderately stressful, constantly changing environment. Employees walk and stand for up to eight hours a day and frequently lift, push, or pull material weighing up to 51 pounds. The schedule is 1st shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour. Overtime is an opportunity, not a stated requirement.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Basic math skills.
Basic literacy to read instructions and use hand tools.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to walk and stand for up to eight hours a day.
Ability to frequently lift, push, or pull material weighing up to 51 pounds.
