As a student of the Generator Manufacturing department in Schenectady, NY, you will be an active contributor helping deliver Power to customers worldwide.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Energy related majors will be considered.
• The required work location is Schenectady, NY - 100% onsite.
• Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship.

• Experience with Design software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software)

Responsibilities

• Build foundational expertise through an immersive experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
• Gain a 360-degree view of how energy technology is built, using a foundation of lean principles.
• Work with a team of skilled technicians on the floor, providing support and troubleshooting equipment and process issues to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
• Eliminate waste and optimize production in a Quality, Lean, or Manufacturing Engineering focused position.
• Conduct root cause analysis to address production issues and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement advanced technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
• Gain access to senior leaders and dedicated career coaching to help navigate your career path.

• Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
• Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern’s permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
