🌍 Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Expert, Remote- Contract

Xperteez Technology•,
•$85 - $185•Remote

About The Position

This is a fully remote contract opportunity with a flexible commitment that can fit alongside a current role. The Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Expert will use their subject-matter expertise to create challenging technical problems in areas such as process design, production systems, quality engineering, automation, supply chain, and operations modeling. Problems should include realistic constraints and supporting data, and test situations in which selecting the correct approach requires careful interpretation of constraints rather than relying on textbook answers. The expert will provide correct solutions with clear reasoning, establish objective criteria for evaluating correctness, and review other contributors’ problems for technical accuracy and sound methodology. They should identify and flag problems that are ambiguous or cannot be graded reliably instead of submitting them.

Requirements

  • Master’s or PhD in manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Principal-, staff-, or fellow-level experience at a major manufacturing organization, or a faculty appointment at a leading university.
  • Deep technical expertise in at least one subdomain, with hands-on ownership of the work.
  • Ability to explain why an answer is correct clearly enough for another engineer to verify it.

Nice To Haves

  • Publications, patents, or a record of technical leadership.
  • AI or LLM evaluation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design difficult technical problems in a manufacturing or industrial engineering subdomain, using realistic constraints and supporting data.
  • Provide correct solutions and explain the reasoning behind them.
  • Define objective criteria for correctness so another expert can evaluate the work consistently.
  • Review problems created by other contributors for technical accuracy and soundness of method.
  • Flag problems that are ambiguous or ungradable rather than submitting them.
