About The Position

Sets up and operates production machinery according to established procedures and guidelines. Reads and interprets diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery, then adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, to specifications, and on time. Helps coach and train other team members and supports employees in this and other plant departments. Reports directly to the Supervisor and works closely with other production employees. The role includes preparing for jobs and overseeing product branding, labeling, packaging, and final-product quality and recording requirements. Employees are expected to follow safety rules and demonstrate care for the safety of themselves, others, and property, while remaining actively engaged in the quality of their work. The position requires continuous lifting of up to 45 pounds, standing for periods of up to four hours, and repetitive bending and stretching. Overtime and weekend work may be required. Requirements

At least 1 year of manufacturing-related experience.
Ability to take and follow verbal directions and communicate those directions to others.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Analytical, problem-solving, and creative ability.
Basic math skills and ability to solve mathematical problems.
Basic hand-tool skills.
Ability to lift up to 45 pounds continuously.
Ability to stand for periods of up to 4 hours at a time.
Ability to perform repetitive bending and stretching daily.
Ability to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

Help members of the department and/or other plant departments.
Plan and prepare for upcoming jobs.
Set up and operate product branding, labeling, and packaging processes.
Oversee the final product, including labeling and packaging.
Follow quality testing and recording requirements.
Follow safety rules and regulations and demonstrate regard for the safety of self, others, and property.
Remain actively engaged in ensuring the quality of work being performed.
Coach and help train other team members.
