About The Position

The Parts Expeditor safeguards on-time production and customer commitments by ensuring the timely flow of materials, components, and subcontracted parts through the manufacturing and fabrication process. This role synchronizes daily with Production Control, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Shipping, and the Parts Sales/Customer Service team to remove bottlenecks, expedite shortages, and keep the ERP/MRP system and stakeholders accurately informed.

  • Possess strong ERP/MRP knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in production planning, materials coordination, or administrative manufacturing support.
  • Prior ERP/MRP experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with parts sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming parts, in-house manufactured components, and outsourced jobs; expedite late/at-risk items.
  • Proactively follow up on purchased and manufactured orders to achieve scheduled due dates and provide timely updates for past due and unforeseen delays.
  • Identify shortages from the production schedule; implement recovery actions in coordination with Production Control, Purchasing, Receiving, Quality, and Production.
  • Participate in daily production meetings/huddles; deliver concise, data-driven updates on material readiness and risks.
  • Maintain shortage lists and dashboards; manage aged work in progress (WIP) reporting to highlight risks and drive action.
  • Provide clear status on work in progress, material availability, and constraints; communicate plan changes promptly to all stakeholders.
  • Work with shipping to ensure emergency orders are shipped in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with the shop floor on expediting orders and communicating changes in priority.
  • Monitor and help accelerate the disposition of nonconforming material (NCMR) to minimize schedule impact.
  • Embrace change and new technology; continuously seek process improvements that simplify work and strengthen delivery performance.
