About The Position

This co-op position focuses on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and offers an engaging and dynamic environment to help develop industry-leading automotive technologies. The role involves supporting MES Analysts in MES system-based projects, assisting with middleware applications, and contributing to data collection techniques for client traceability and production performance reporting. The position also involves developing project requirements, collaborating with other departments to collect data for KPIs, and adhering to operational procedures and policies. The co-op will gain experience in a manufacturing setting and contribute to improving vehicle safety and cleanliness through technology development.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in an automation and robotics related field
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to uphold confidentiality
  • Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of this Act and the regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ignition development and implementation is an asset
  • Experience with human machine interface (HMI) development and implementation is an asset
  • Experience with Relational Databases (i.e., Microsoft SQL [MSSQL] Server) is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Assists MES Analysts in MES System based projects
  • Helps support middleware applications (IGear, Kepware) in conjunction with the MES
  • Supports in data collection techniques that meet or exceed client data traceability and production performance reporting
  • Provides recommended solution alternatives in alignment with business objectives
  • Development of project requirements, including detailed specs, work estimates, timelines, deliverables and milestones
  • Works with other departments to create and collect data in support of KPIs and other key measurements from production using existing data collection systems
  • Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e., IATF16949, ISO14001)
  • Understands, promotes and lives by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter
