About The Position

Join our team as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and play a critical role in driving the digital transformation of our truck manufacturing operations. In this position, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of MES solutions that connect production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain systems across the plant. The ideal candidate will combine manufacturing engineering expertise with strong technical knowledge of MES platforms, automation systems, and data integration. You will work closely with Operations, Quality, IT, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to improve productivity, enhance traceability, and support world-class manufacturing performance. This role offers the opportunity to influence how trucks are built by leveraging technology, data, and process innovation to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience in product manufacturing OR Master's degree and at least 1 year of experience in product manufacturing OR At least 5 years of experience in product manufacturing
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.

  • Experience with MES platforms such as Siemens Opcenter, FactoryTalk ProductionCentre, GE Proficy, Apriso, SAP ME, Rockwell automation, PLEX or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, industrial networks, and machine connectivity.
  • Experience integrating MES systems with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle or similar systems.
  • Proficiency with SQL, database management, and manufacturing data analysis.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing traceability, serialization, and quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0, IIoT, and Smart Factory technologies.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence change and drive results across multiple functional areas.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead MES initiatives that support truck manufacturing and assembly operations.
  • Develop and execute MES roadmaps aligned with plant and enterprise objectives.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for MES applications and manufacturing systems.
  • Mentor engineers and support cross-functional project teams.
  • Analyze production workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, and quality.
  • Develop and implement digital manufacturing processes, electronic work instructions, and process controls.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, cycle time reduction, and waste elimination.
  • Lead integration efforts between MES, ERP, PLC, SCADA, quality, and warehouse management systems.
  • Collaborate with IT and automation teams to ensure seamless communication between manufacturing equipment and business systems.
  • Support implementation of Industry 4.0 and smart factory initiatives.
  • Provide MES support for production operations and rapidly resolve system-related issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Support production launches, equipment commissioning, and process changes.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing traceability systems for components and finished vehicles.
  • Ensure accurate collection and reporting of production and quality data.
  • Support regulatory compliance, customer requirements, and internal audit activities.
  • Utilize manufacturing and production data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Develop dashboards, KPIs, and reports related to productivity, quality, downtime, and operational performance.
  • Drive data-driven decision making throughout the manufacturing organization.
  • Lead MES implementation, upgrade, and expansion projects.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, external vendors, and system integrators.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, risks, and deliverables.
