Requirements

  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in leading others through project work, kaizen events, etc.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Strong emphasis on critical thinking, time management, judgment and decision-making
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to motivate, develop and direct people as they work
  • Ability to identify the best people for the job
  • BS degree in Electrical, Electro-mechanical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience
  • This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of manufacturing engineers
  • Coordinate and direct projects, making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities
  • Direct, review, and approve product design and changes
  • Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, enforcing rules, and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services
  • Analyze technology, resource needs, and market demand, to plan and assess the feasibility of projects
  • Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and procedures
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations
  • Supervise technicians, technologists, analysts, administrative staff, or other engineers
  • Troubleshoot new and existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes
  • Review product designs for manufacturability and completeness
  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
  • Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment
