About The Position

As a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, you will be reporting to the Technical Supervisor of the Manufacturing Engineering team MED. You will be responsible for developing manufacturing methods for P&WC engine components (turbines, compressors, combustion chambers, etc.). You'll have the chance to work as part of a team of some thirty methods agents, NC programmers and special process specialists. As a Manufacturing Engineering Specialist, you will also oversee the support and the optimization of manufacturing methods to meet the delivery requirements of the manufacturing center. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • College diploma in manufacturing or mechanical design
  • 3-5 years of minimum experience as a Process planner
  • Experience as a machinist (CNC and/or conventional)
  • Mastery of Catia V5 software
  • Knowledge of SAP, PLM
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite and MS project
  • Teamwork, autonomy, good communication, attention to detail
  • Although this position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a knowledge of technical terms in English to read and understand specialized instructions, plans, drawings and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and sometimes communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Create and write complex manufacturing operation sheets for parts and assemblies of aeronautical engines
  • Interpret and validate technical requirements of drawings, models and customer specifications
  • Define the tooling for the assembly or the control of the parts in collaboration with the related services
  • Coordinate projects for the production and development of parts
  • Coordinate the introduction of new products and changes through strict and standardized quality processes
  • Work in collaboration with the machinists and inspectors of the plant to perfect the methods and address the problems of the parts in development
  • Provide technical support to the manufacturing workshop and external suppliers
  • Establish work standards to improve the quality and robustness of manufacturing processes
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
