About The Position

Milacron is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our team in Mt. Orab, Ohio. In this position, you will be responsible for the development of manufacturing capabilities and standards to ensure proper manufacturing processing of components and assemblies to obtain maximum productivity and quality. This person will also be coordinating shop floor projects and activities to achieve timely resolution of manufacturing problems and new product and process launches. This position is part of the plant leadership team and provides vision and direction to drive continuous improvement throughout the facility. This person will also interface with operations, design, quality, purchasing, safety, and component suppliers to ensure products are manufactured with the most cost-effective methods at the highest quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent machining and manufacturing leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a machining environment, with demonstrated progression in technical responsibility.
  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating engineers, technicians, or cross-functional improvement teams.
  • Working knowledge of continuous improvement methods such as Lean, Kaizen, or similar structured problem-solving tools.
  • Strong communication, project management, and shop floor problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience producing screws, barrels, or similar precision cylindrical components for heavy industrial or plastics processing applications.
  • Familiarity with deep-hole machining, heat treatment, wear-resistant materials, surface finishing, or rebuild and repair operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems, process costing, capital equipment justification, and manufacturing metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Establish goals and expectations for the department to support daily operations and drive project execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement using lean manufacturing tools.
  • Monitor and direct day-to-day process development to ensure product quality, timely product shipments, continuing cost effectiveness, and divisional profitability.
  • Assign and prioritize manufacturing engineering projects and track progress towards completion by following published timelines to attain maximum effectiveness of manufacturing engineering efforts.
  • Drive continuous improvement of processes, quality, and cost through maintaining profitability and competitiveness.
  • Determine capital equipment needs, write specification statements for equipment, and supervise installation and qualification of equipment to ensure equipment functions to meet specifications, and is delivered on time within cost requirements.
