About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager (NPI) is responsible for ensuring the effective use of material, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum cost. This role involves significant interaction with design, production, and site transfer teams, focusing on manufacturability, process development, optimization, and continuous improvement. The manager will provide guidance and technical support to the Manufacturing Engineering department, overseeing aspects from design reviews to on-site launch support in Asia facilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of five years’ applicable experience in the production and testing of electromechanical assemblies.
  • Deep understanding of quality control fundamentals like GD&T, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with workflow processes in the fabrication, assembly, and testing of electromechanical systems and components.
  • Intimate working knowledge of statistical process control methods.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability principles.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance regarding design for manufacturability.
  • Conduct DFM / DFA reviews & feedback to design.
  • Assess assembly process feasibility.
  • Review BOM and ensure manufacturing alignment.
  • Interpret drawings & specifications.
  • Review and implement engineering change orders (ECOs).
  • Support prototype & pre-production builds.
  • Develop and optimize assembly processes.
  • Design/procure assembly tooling & fixtures.
  • Support first production builds and resolve issues.
  • Determine and specify requirements for special assembly machines, equipment, and tooling.
  • Control torque, adhesive & critical process parameters.
  • Develop operator training materials.
  • Lead continuous improvement & cost reduction initiatives.
  • Prepare manufacturing transfer packages, including Standardized Work Instructions for Asia manufacturing facilities.
  • Prepare tooling & fixture documentation packages for transfer.
  • Manage BOM & configuration control for transfers.
  • Assess Asia site launch readiness, including on-site launch support, ramp assistance, and operator & technician training delivery.
  • Manage ECO change communication & update management for transfers.
  • Provide post-launch issue support & sustaining documentation.
  • Schedule and implement process improvements focused on defect reduction, cost reduction, and assembly optimization.
  • Manage utilization of SPC data to direct process improvement focus of the Manufacturing Engineering department.
  • Supervise, guide, and provide technical support for the Manufacturing Engineering department.
