About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the facility’s manufacturing engineering, maintenance, and maintenance cleaning & coatings teams, where applicable. This role oversees all related operational, technical, and strategic activities within the facility to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable performance. The position also actively participates in and supports corporate-level teams and cross‑functional projects, as assigned, contributing expertise to broader organizational initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent technical coursework and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Lean Six Sigma, APICS, or comparable continuous‑improvement credentials (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 5–10 years in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • 2–5 years in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating capability in coaching, performance management, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD or Unigraphics (NX), Microsoft Office Suite, and Oracle MRP or similar ERP systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams, ensuring all deliverables meet corporate standards, processes are designed for safety, and Engineering Change Orders are properly reviewed, interpreted, and communicated to Production, QA, and Materials.
  • Oversee facility and equipment readiness by ensuring the building, grounds, and equipment are maintained; sustaining Preventative Maintenance and TPM programs; and supporting Production, QA, Customer Service, and other departments with timely engineering expertise.
  • Drive operational performance and continuous improvement by collaborating with the manufacturing management team to achieve metrics, leading Lean initiatives (5S, VSM, setup reduction), balancing team workloads, planning manpower assignments, and ensuring accurate locators, inventory maps, and material‑flow support.
  • Manage and develop team members through hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and initiating corrective action when needed, while approving Standard Work Instructions and other required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate layouts and documentation including plant and cell layouts, inventory and housekeeping maps, and emergency/security maps, ensuring all remain current and aligned with operational needs.
  • Lead capital and budget activities by specifying and facilitating equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications; ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget; developing departmental budgets; and monitoring spending against approved levels.
  • Support cross‑functional problem solving through active participation in SWAT team meetings, conducting process observations to validate time standards, maintaining labor resource planning tools, and monitoring routings while submitting change requests when appropriate.
  • Ensure production readiness and product introduction by conducting contract reviews prior to launch (MRA process), coordinating new product introduction into manufacturing, ensuring participation in NCP meetings, initiating Engineering Change Requests, and supporting Process Planning and Production Engineering.
