About The Position

To assist in supporting manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and contributing to the development and implementation of manufacturing methods in accordance with Pride’s procedures and protocols.

  • At least in the equivalency of successfully completing Sophomore year of college before starting the internship

Nice To Haves

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology preferred
  • Provide approval documents from their college or university to receive college credit preferred
  • Related project or internship experience in manufacturing, production processes, or process improvement preferred
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement initiatives preferred
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production workflows preferred
  • Familiarity with ERP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) preferred
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 40 lbs. preferred
  • Ability to provide examples of process improvement, workflow optimization, or manufacturing-related projects preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions preferred
  • Current or previous successful internship experience with Pride Mobility Products Corporation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with improving and supporting manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and production workflows
  • Assist with troubleshooting production issues and implementing corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency
  • Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and transition of new products into production
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and work instructions
  • Assist with process documentation, time studies, and workflow optimization initiatives
  • Support continuous improvement activities including Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Assist with fixture design, tooling improvements, and basic manufacturing support equipment
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventative action processes
  • Assist with component inspection, testing, and validation activities as required
  • Ensure all safety and security rules are strictly observed and any accidents, incidents, or injuries are promptly reported to management
  • Focus on continuous improvement, and consistently demonstrate good business judgment
  • Work effectively with all Pride departments to exceed internal and external expectations
  • Pride retains the discretion to modify duties and/or assign other duties as necessary
