ROUSH Central Manufacturing has a new and exciting opportunity for a quality focused Manufacturing Engineering Intern, with some mechanical aptitude and a desire to provide hands-on support, to assist with successfully developing, launching new programs within the organization. The right candidate for this position must be currently enrolled in an engineering degree program. This position will report directly to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer and will come to us with a desire to learn. Exceptional team skills are a must. This position is a paid internship based in Livonia, Michigan with local travel required.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program for manufacturing
  • Basic understanding automotive manufacturing
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of company and with customers
  • Must possess a can-do attitude and the drive to succeed
  • Must be self-disciplined to meet and complete objectives within stressful situations and time deadlines
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) compliance (Defense/Military)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in process development, automotive assembly and related components
  • Working knowledge of Lean 5S, DFM/A, and product/process verification techniques
  • Experience in tooling and production assembly development
  • Project management experience including: preparation of timing plans, project budget and program timing

Responsibilities

  • Assist with successfully developing, launching new programs within the organization.
