Manufacturing Engineering Intern

ITW•Litchfield, MN
•$26 - $28

About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineering Intern supports operations at a high-speed connector stamping facility, gaining hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, tooling, automation, and continuous improvement in a production environment supplying components for metal-connected wood trusses. The intern works with manufacturing engineers and cross-functional teams to help improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost. The role includes a site-specific engineering project, carried from problem definition through analysis and implementation, with results and recommendations formally presented to Division leadership. The internship provides experience with high-speed metal stamping, connector plate manufacturing, progressive dies, press operations, electrical systems, controls, PLC-driven equipment, Fanuc robotics, material handling, lean manufacturing, and production workflows. The position combines office-based work with time on the manufacturing floor. The plant environment includes production equipment, noise, and moving machinery, and the work may require standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
