About The Position

Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be full time, 6 months in duration. As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op, you'll gain hands-on experience supporting manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least one year of completed coursework.
  • Interest in manufacturing processes, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced production setting and managing multiple priorities.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing, production, internship, Co-Op, or hands-on technical experience is preferred.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software is preferred.
  • Communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily Tier meetings to monitor production performance, identify challenges, and support operational priorities.
  • Create, update, and maintain manufacturing work instructions and process documentation.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cycle times, and eliminate waste.
  • Prepare and initiate Management of Change (MOC) documentation to support process improvements and operational changes.
  • Present proposed process changes and improvement initiatives to cross-functional teams to gain stakeholder alignment and support.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on projects related to process optimization, productivity improvements, quality enhancements, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Collect and analyze production data to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
