About The Position

Our site in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op to join our team for the Spring 2027 season. This assignment is intended to be full-time, 6 months in duration beginning in January. In this role, you will help solve manufacturing issues by designing and implementing new equipment and processes. This role will also be assigned a medium-term project focused on manufacturing improvement in the Co-ops area of expertise or field of study. This role will also give exposure to systems used in real-life production environments that will help round out the technical training gained by school.

Requirements

  • Have a basic understanding of lean manufacturing techniques
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under guidance from experience engineers.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including spending time on the production floor.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student
  • Available to work 40 hours a week, M-F (8a-5p) beginning in January through June
  • Must be familiar with the university’s requirements to participate in a co-op program

Responsibilities

  • Own and execute a significant manufacturing engineering project focused on your area of study while delivering measurable results by the end of the co-op term that can be presented to site leadership.
  • Support manufacturing process improvements by analyzing production data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing solutions to improve operational performance.
  • Assist with the design, development, and validation of tooling, fixtures, equipment, and standardized work instructions to support production operations.
  • Provide day-to-day manufacturing engineering support by assisting with production issue resolution, process troubleshooting, documentation updates, and implementation of corrective actions.
