About The Position

This position leads the development, optimization, and support of automated manufacturing processes, advanced machining, and rapid prototyping technologies across production operations. The role plays a critical part in scaling local capabilities and ensuring products are manufactured consistently, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. It requires strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on automation expertise, and a continuous improvement mindset. The Manufacturing Engineer will own the transfer of new parts to the Middleboro facility, manage SLA (Stereolithography) equipment/processes, work cross-functionally to support both new product introductions and legacy product sustainment, and directly drive production scaling through advanced technology integration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Automation Engineering.
  • 8+ years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Experience managing automation and advanced technology projects.
  • Hands-on experience with SLA additive manufacturing and rapid prototyping workflows.
  • Strong background in advanced CNC machining and parts transfer execution.
  • Project management and capital equipment procurement skills.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, and knowledge of CAM software
  • Knowledge of Lean principles (SMED, TPM, 5S, JIT).
  • Experience in mid-to-high volume manufacturing production environments.
  • Familiarity with inspection systems, quality protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to present technical concepts confidently to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with R&D Engineering throughout phase-gate product development.
  • Lead and execute DFM/A, PFMEA, and advanced engineering tasks.
  • Own and manage the technical transfer of parts to the Middleboro facility.
  • Lead implementation, validation, and growth of SLA rapid prototyping equipment.
  • Drive the facility's automation strategy, equipment specification, and deployment.
  • Optimize high-precision CNC machining operations and advanced programming techniques.
  • Develop and validate automated assembly and automated test procedures.
  • Analyze complex data sets and generate technical engineering reports.
  • Present technical findings clearly to cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Establish and standardize scalable, repeatable manufacturing best practices.
  • Author process documentation, control plans, and standard operating instructions.
  • Create precision tooling, fixtures using 3D CAD.
  • Ensure ergonomic integration and automated manufacturability for all designs.
  • Oversee assembly and testing of high-precision fluidic components.
  • Investigate material or process defects using root-cause analysis.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to facility-wide initiatives.
  • Drive implementation of corrective actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Generate compliance and resolution reports directly for customers.
  • Lead machine validation and qualification via FAI/capability analysis.
  • Prepare and justify Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) for automation investments.
  • Manage special operations projects, including necessary travel or training.
