Manufacturing Engineer

Rendezvous RoboticsGolden, CO
$85,000 - $135,000Onsite

About The Position

Today, everything we send to space is constrained by what fits inside a rocket fairing. That's a fundamental bottleneck to building more capable spacecraft. Rendezvous Robotics is solving this problem with electromagnetic self-assembling tiles: modular spacecraft components that rendezvous, dock, and latch to assemble bigger and more powerful spacecraft than anything that can be folded to fit into a rocket. We're a small team based in Golden, Colorado, executing on a clear path from flight demonstration to our first operational systems. Our work spans hardware, software, and systems engineering. We are looking for the best people in the world who want to build the next generation of advanced spacecraft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a related field.
  • [Senior level only] 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Hands-on experience working with hardware and fabrication methods.
  • Experience with PLM and/or MES tools and configuration and data management controls.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with technicians and design engineers.
  • U.S. person status required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building space hardware — structures, harnessing, PCBAs, fluid systems, or similar.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or equivalent aerospace quality processes and standards.
  • Experience standing up production processes, tooling, or a build floor from scratch in a startup or small-team environment.
  • Experience authoring NCR / corrective-action workflows and dispositioning nonconforming hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Generate and maintain work instructions for mechanical and electrical assemblies, building them into our MES so the floor has clear, current, traceable steps.
  • Support production operations day to day, removing blockers and keeping workflow uninterrupted.
  • Create spacecraft and tile assembly kits to enable rapid, repeatable production.
  • Generate non-conformance reports (NCRs), support investigations through resolution, and own the execution of dispositions.
  • Manage calibration and certification of mechanical and electrical ground support equipment (GSE).
  • Provide technical and engineering support to the technician team on the build floor.
  • Drive process improvements and corrective actions that increase production efficiency and yield.
  • Provide manufacturing expertise to design engineering, contributing to drawings, SOPs, and design-for-manufacturability decisions.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage
  • Short- and long-term disability insurance
  • Life insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • 3 weeks of paid vacation
  • 10 or more paid holidays per year
  • Long-term incentives in the form of stock options
