About The Position

GKN Aerospace is reimagining air travel, focusing on innovation and sustainability. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will support production and development programs by ensuring zero-defect manufacturing through robust process design and continuous improvement. This role involves implementing advanced manufacturing technologies across various stages of production, including materials, tooling, fabrication, and assembly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ months of professional experience in aerospace parts manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience with composite materials or equivalent engineered materials (e.g., fiber-reinforced polymers, laminates, or hybrid structures) in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen, Green Card Holder / US permanent resident, refugee or asylee) to meet export control compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement technical solutions for complex manufacturing challenges.
  • Provide manufacturing engineer support for production integration and supplier-related issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions to resolve non-conformances.
  • Design tooling and production plans using standard manufacturing engineering methodologies.
  • Support product development activities for manufacturing, including quoting, tooling design, configuration changes, and first article inspections.
  • Deliver measurable results aligned with manufacturing program and value stream objectives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners.
  • Champion Lean initiatives and drive continuous improvement through various manufacturing processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
