About The Position

Machine Specialties, Inc. (MSI) is a leading provider of precision-machined components, special processing, and complex assemblies for the aerospace industry. We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing Engineering team. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting directly to the Engineering Manager. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing innovative processes that support world-class aerospace manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in precision machining or manufacturing engineering.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (Creo).
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience interpreting engineering specifications and developing manufacturing work instructions.
  • Knowledge of aerospace special processes such as Chrome Plating, Cadmium Plating, Shot Peening, Anodizing, and Painting.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with CNC machining processes and manufacturing methods.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 quality systems.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • ERP experience (Epicor experience is a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Develop manufacturing plans from customer engineering drawings, models, and technical data packages.
  • Optimize existing manufacturing methods to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Evaluate tooling, fixturing, machining strategies, and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers to resolve technical and manufacturing challenges.
  • Support production by troubleshooting machining and process-related issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Assist with new product introduction and process development.
