About The Position

CACI is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in Orlando, FL. This role is part of the Optical and Photonics Systems Division, which specializes in the design, development, and manufacturing of complex, state-of-the-art communications systems for military, space, and commercial applications. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for researching, designing, developing, and supporting systems and processes for efficient and effective production of complex products or solutions. This may involve conducting studies on equipment sequencing, operations, and workflow, as well as evaluating how product characteristics influence manufacturing techniques. The role also includes evaluating cost factors, recommending methods for economic utilization of facilities and personnel, and preparing cost estimates for projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in ME, EE or OE and a minimum of 8 years of experience, OR an Associate’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience in Optics Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a similar industrial field.
  • Knowledge of process control, cleanroom operation protocol, and process control for complex opto-mechanical and electro-optical assembly.
  • Proven technical acumen in the manufacture, test, and integration of complex product technologies and systems for DoD or Space applications.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment with people at all levels.
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of MIL/IPC workmanship and performance standards related to electronic assemblies (IPC-610, IPC-620, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-883, NASA Spec.).
  • Manufacturing Execution System experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fabrication process development, documentation, ECOs, process training, and responsibility to maintain production yield, quality, and cleanliness.
  • Interface with design engineers to ensure hardware producibility and develop build strategies.
  • Drive cost reduction and implement best process controls to produce top-quality products.
  • Direct support personnel in the day-to-day execution of manufacturing tasks.
  • Actively think and act independently to propose or translate ideas and new concepts into tangible process results.
  • Plan and support the build and modification of electronics systems, including procurement support, assembly method/work instructions generation, tooling design support, material/process development, facilities/equipment planning, and resolution of manufacturing, quality, and reliability issues.
