The Manufacturing Engineer designs, builds and maintains machines and tools within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive operation for manufacturing processes. This role is responsible for evaluating manufacturing processes, designing new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones. The engineer will develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment, and conferring with equipment vendors. They will also prepare manufacturing proposals and estimates for new products, including tooling cost requirements and manufacturing resources, and participate actively in continuous improvement plans. Additionally, the role involves improving manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, and providing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements. The engineer will prepare product and process reports, devise new approaches to complex problems, and ensure compliance with applicable facility standards (ISO, TS, etc.). The incumbent is also responsible for understanding and managing the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Quality Management System (QMS).
