About The Position

iNRCORE Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for its Dyco Electronics facility in Hornell, NY. This role is crucial for supporting operational growth through automation, process improvement, equipment integration, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to design and implement scalable automation solutions that enhance productivity, quality, safety, and capacity, aligning with long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will have strong industrial automation experience, practical manufacturing knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to communicate technical and financial information effectively across all organizational levels. The position is responsible for identifying, designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining automation solutions to improve operational performance and support future growth, leading projects from concept to implementation, including business case development, technical design, equipment sourcing, validation, training, and ongoing support. This role is a key contributor to continuous improvement and manufacturing modernization efforts. This is an ITAR-restricted position, requiring candidates to meet U.S. Person requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing automation, industrial equipment, controls, machine design, process engineering, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience leading projects from concept through implementation, including vendor management, installation, validation, and budget oversight.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, industrial controls, sensors, servo systems, motion control, drives, and industrial communications.
  • Experience with robotics, machine vision systems, automated inspection technologies, and material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar design platforms.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies, and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Ability to develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, ROI calculations, and capital expenditure justifications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and cross-functional projects.
  • Must comply with all company safety requirements and utilize required personal protective equipment.

  • Experience working within ERP, MES, quality systems, manufacturing analytics, or production reporting platforms is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, labor-intensive, bottleneck, or error-prone manufacturing processes.
  • Design and implement automation solutions that improve productivity, quality, throughput, safety, and consistency.
  • Lead automation projects through concept, design, approval, installation, validation, production release, and post-launch support.
  • Design, specify, and integrate automation equipment, robotic systems, vision systems, fixtures, tooling, test systems, and material handling solutions.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and process flow documentation.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, motion control systems, industrial communications, and other automation technologies.
  • Assist with programming, troubleshooting, optimization, and integration of automated manufacturing equipment and business systems.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, capital expenditure requests, ROI analyses, and implementation plans.
  • Coordinate project activities with internal stakeholders, suppliers, machine builders, and equipment integrators.
  • Provide project status updates, forecasts, risk assessments, and implementation recommendations to management.
  • Develop operating procedures, maintenance documentation, troubleshooting guides, and training materials.
  • Train operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors on newly implemented systems and technologies.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and drive long-term sustainability of installed automation solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
