About The Position

BOXABL is seeking a talented and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing our production processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, with experience in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and product development.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field
0–5 years of professional experience (internship and co-op experience considered)
Ability to read and interpret GD&T on engineering drawings
Familiarity with CNC machining principles including feeds, speeds, toolpaths, and machine kinematics
Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills; comfortable working in a shop-floor environment

Nice To Haves

Hands-on experience operating or programming CNC mills or lathes
CAM software experience
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S methodologies
SOLIDWORKS Certification (CSWA or higher) a plus

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (Mastercam, WoodWOP, VCarve or equivalent) for milling operations
Set up and prove out new CNC programs on machining centers
Create and maintain setup sheets, tooling lists, and work instructions for CNC operations
Perform first-article inspection and collaborate with quality to validate dimensional conformance
Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, scrap, and machining costs
Analyze machine performance data and recommend corrective actions for recurring quality or throughput issues
Support PFMEA, control plans, and process documentation in accordance with company quality standards
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action (RCCA) for nonconforming part
Select and specify cutting tools, work holding, and fixtures for new and existing jobs
Coordinate with maintenance and machine operators on preventive maintenance schedules and equipment issues
Evaluate and recommend tooling and machine upgrades to improve process capability
Interface with production, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve manufacturing issues
Support new product introduction (NPI) by providing DFM feedback and early-stage process planning
