About The Position

Elmet Technologies is seeking a CNC Process Engineer for their Euclid, Ohio facility. This role involves developing, overseeing, and improving manufacturing processes for high-performance metals like tungsten and molybdenum. The engineer will collaborate closely with Operations, Quality, and manufacturing floor employees to address production issues, enhance yield and capability, implement new equipment and processes, and ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate. This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys combining technical analysis with hands-on problem-solving in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, IT, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in metals, powder metals, or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing, documenting, or improving manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience working with CAD, including SolidWorks.
  • CNC programming experience using MasterCam, SolidCam, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting multi-axis milling and turning applications.
  • The ability to interpret manufacturing problems, identify potential causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations, Quality, and other technical teams.
  • A willingness to spend time on the manufacturing floor understanding how processes actually perform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and oversee manufacturing processes for molybdenum, tungsten, and toll-processing products.
  • Work closely with Operations and Quality to ensure processes reflect actual production practices.
  • Create and maintain OPCs, BOMs, routing structures, and detailed manufacturing instructions.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes support required cost structures and customer quality requirements.
  • Evaluate existing processes to identify opportunities to improve capability, efficiency, yield, and consistency.
  • Develop and implement new manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Evaluate and introduce new equipment and tooling.
  • Support new product and process development.
  • Work directly with employees on the manufacturing floor to troubleshoot and resolve production problems.
  • Provide technical support to customers to define product and process requirements.
  • Help troubleshoot customer material and application issues.
  • Partner with Quality Control and Quality Assurance to investigate nonconforming material.
  • Support resolution of customer complaints and manufacturing quality issues.
  • Lead and participate in corrective and preventive action initiatives.
  • Use tools such as FMEA and other quality analyses to identify and reduce process risk.
  • Support vendor interactions, equipment evaluations, and equipment development.
  • Travel occasionally when required to support vendors, equipment, or other business needs.
