About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer plans, develops, and coordinates manufacturing processes. At Kurt Die Casting, the employee experience and vertical-manufacturing facility set us apart. Employees at our die casting facility can gain experience in multiple areas of manufacturing including aluminum and zinc die casting, CNC machining, automation, and quality control. We have over 100,000 square feet of manufacturing space with the capacity and capability to service a diverse set of customers and industries. Kurt Die Casting features 20 CNC machining centers and 15 die casting machines ranging in size from 500 to 1,200 tons. Many of the castings we produce feature challenging designs that require secondary operations such as machining, finishing and assembly.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2 years of related experience
  • Programming software experience
  • CAD experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4 years of related experience
  • SolidWorks / ESPRIT experience
  • Die Cast experience

Responsibilities

  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and components, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Analyzes and plans production equipment utilization.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Coordinates with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of materials or parts, and evaluates products / fixtures according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Sets machine sequence set-up and cycle times for the manufacture parts to customer requirement.
  • Use of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software for parametric modeling, simulation, analysis, and product documentation.
