About The Position

The Manufacturing Engineer will serve as the local Manufacturing Engineering specialist within their designated plant. This role is responsible for managing specialist projects that introduce new technology, support New Product Introduction (NPI), and drive method improvements. The goal is to enhance daily improvements in key areas such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Inventory, and Personnel values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a technical field, or equivalent years of experience with metal processing.
  • 5+ years of related experience desired.
  • Six Sigma and/or Lean experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Has led project/activities across a range of Manufacturing Processes.
  • Has experienced manufacturing change (Method redesign e.g. SOP’s etc).
  • 1-2 years manufacturing or technical experience, preferably within a metals manufacturing industry.
  • Proof of US citizenship, nationality, and/or permanent resident status.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Aerospace Manufacturing supply chain would be a distinct advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Review manufacturing methods to reduce Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) scores in alignment with the zero-harm program.
  • Contribute to the Zero Defects (ZD) program for the specific plant, including daily ZD reviews and analyzing data for corrective actions.
  • Develop manufacturing processes to meet plant budget targets for yield and productivity in their area.
  • Maintain Manufacturing Engineering owned minimum standards, including PFMEA, RFT, Control Plans, KPV, and SPC within their area.
  • Support ME Leadership teams with the Management of Change (MOC) process at the plant level.
  • Assist in the creation and control of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within their specific plant.
  • Utilize Lean/Six Sigma tools (e.g., value stream mapping, voice of process, root cause problem solving, FMEA, SPC, SMED, line balancing, Kaizen, 6s) to identify and drive plant improvements.
  • Support the integration of planned Manufacturing Technology, Digital Technology, and Product Introduction activities within their respective area.
  • Drive manufacturing processes towards identified consistent best practices and share these practices with other plants.
