Manufacturing Engineer - 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Generator Final Assembly 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer will support the off-shifts by working to solve the team’s technical problems. This individual must be a self-starter, able to work through complex technical issues, and able to communicate well across all three shifts without face-to-face interaction. This role involves manufacturing engineering tasks, primarily tactical responsibilities, including creating and updating work instructions, purchasing and planning maintenance of shop tooling, analyzing part drawings and technical process specifications, and creating shop build documentation. The position requires communicating technical processes with salary and hourly employees, broadening knowledge of one's technical discipline to execute policy/strategy, and may include support roles with specialized technical fields. A basic understanding of key business drivers and how one's work integrates with other teams is expected. The role may involve some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework and resolving issues that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures, consulting more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters. A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may involve leading a junior team.
Requirements
- Ability to work 2nd Shift (3-11pm)
- Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university/college with 2 years of experience in manufacturing leadership
- OR a 2 year Technical Degree with minimum 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role
- OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role
- OR 6 years of military experience in a technical or relatable role
- Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
Nice To Haves
- Manufacturing experience or internship in manufacturing environment preferred
- Technical aptitude in an engineering discipline
- Experience with tooling design and/or process improvement
- Ability to present clearly to manufacturing operators and leadership
- Experience in writing standard operating procedures
- Ability to document, plan and execute programs
