About The Position

The Generator Final Assembly 2nd Shift Manufacturing Engineer will support the off-shifts by working to solve the team’s technical problems. This individual must be a self-starter, able to work through complex technical issues, and able to communicate well across all three shifts without face-to-face interaction.

Requirements

• Ability to work 2nd Shift (3-11pm).
• Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or related field from an accredited university/college with 2 years of experience in manufacturing leadership OR a 2 year Technical Degree with minimum 6 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership or technical role OR 6 years of military experience in a technical or relatable role.
• Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing experience or internship in manufacturing environment.
• Technical aptitude in an engineering discipline.
• Experience with tooling design and/or process improvement.
• Ability to present clearly to manufacturing operators and leadership.
• Experience in writing standard operating procedures.
• Ability to document, plan and execute programs.

Responsibilities

• Support the off-shifts by working to solve the team’s technical problems.
• Create and update work instructions.
• Purchase and plan maintenance of shop tooling.
• Analyze part drawings and technical process specifications.
• Create shop build documentation.
• Communicate technical processes with salary & hourly employees.
• Broaden knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
• Support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills.
• Use understanding of key business drivers to accomplish own work.
• Understand how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Make decisions within a defined framework.
• Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
• Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
• Lead a junior team.
