About The Position

Griffon Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II/III with a specialization in quality and process implementation for their Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) production. This role is crucial for facilitating quality inspection implementation, standardizing processes, and ensuring proper tooling to meet AS9100/ISO9001 standards. The position is based in Madison, Alabama.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 2–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Medical Device, or Automotive).
  • Strong mastery of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plans, and Gauge R&R.
  • Ability to interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and complex IPC-620 electrical standards.
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
  • ABILITY TO OBTAIN SECURITY CLEARANCE

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MES implementation (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Plex).
  • Prior experience in the UAS/EVTOL industry or with high-voltage battery integration.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize end-to-end manufacturing flows for airframe integration and avionics assembly.
  • Lead the deployment of AS9100 or ISO9001 standards on the shop floor.
  • Establish "First Article Inspection" (FAI) protocols for complex electrical assemblies.
  • Act as the primary bridge between R&D and Production, reviewing new designs for manufacturability, focusing on error-proofing (Poka-Yoke) and assembly repeatability.
  • Monitor production data to identify trends and reduce variability in harness crimping, soldering, and structural bonding.
  • Lead the Material Review Board (MRB) to find the root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for automation in testing and assembly to remove human error from critical flight-path components.
