About The Position

Quantinuum is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer in Broomfield, Colorado. This highly hands-on role leads a production line for complex ultra-high-vacuum (UHV) hardware. The engineer works side by side with technicians to execute builds to schedule, maintain quality, improve manufacturing processes, and further define the structure needed for predictable production. Travel may be required up to 10%. Applicants for safety-sensitive positions must submit to a pre-employment drug test.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree minimum.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a hardware manufacturing or product industrialization environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience leading builds or daily production-line execution for complex, low-volume hardware while meeting schedule, quality, and safety commitments.
  • Experience building, integrating, testing, or troubleshooting UHV systems, precision mechanical assemblies, cryogenic systems, or comparable complex scientific hardware.
  • Demonstrated success establishing production structure through process flows, work instructions, build travelers, inspection plans, test procedures, operator training, and readiness reviews.
  • Experience improving manufacturing quality, yield, cycle time, throughput, and rework using root-cause analysis, corrective action, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methods.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA, tooling and fixture design, configuration control, engineering changes, quality systems, and CAD or PLM/PDM tools such as Onshape and Arena.
  • Strong technical ownership, organization, communication, and cross-functional leadership, with the ability to remain closely engaged on the production floor and build trust with technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a production line building complex UHV hardware, with direct accountability for safe, high-quality execution of the build schedule.
  • Work side by side with technicians to assemble, integrate, test, troubleshoot, and deliver low-volume, high-complexity hardware; provide real-time technical direction and remove barriers to progress.
  • Translate production priorities into clear daily and weekly work plans, coordinating labor, materials, tooling, documentation, and technical support to keep builds on schedule.
  • Own and continuously improve production-line structure, including process flows, assembly sequences, work instructions, build travelers, inspection and test methods, training, and readiness criteria.
  • Partner with Quality to drive process improvements using build data, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, defect and rework trends, cycle time, and yield.
  • Partner with engineers, physicists, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve issues, implement engineering changes, and improve manufacturability, reliability, throughput, and cost.
  • Develop tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and workstation improvements that increase safety, repeatability, ergonomics, and production capacity.

Benefits
