The engineer collaborates with design, tooling, dynamics, thermal, test, electrical, and other engineering teams to improve safety, quality, manufacturability, capacity, cost, and production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3–5 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in hardware development, a test laboratory, aerospace/space maintenance, manufacturing, or another hands-on engineering environment.
  • Strong hands-on manufacturing and mechanical aptitude, including the ability and willingness to work directly with production equipment, tooling, parts, and processes.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and equipment layouts.
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to work effectively with production employees, technicians, engineers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, tooling, assembly processes, testing, and production troubleshooting.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry such as aerospace, defense/military, medical device, nuclear, automotive, or a comparable manufacturing environment.
  • Ability and willingness to use AI tools appropriately to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost efficiency, including identifying appropriate use cases and critically evaluating AI-generated outputs.
  • Must have the legal right to work in the US and be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with foil and/or sheet metal fabrication, welding, brazing, or pressure-containing products is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor and partner with production teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing, assembly, and testing of complex heat exchangers, including sheet metal and foil fabrication, brazing, welding, assembly, and testing.
  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes using Lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, statistical methods, and other continuous improvement techniques.
  • Analyze production and test data to identify trends, resolve quality issues, reduce defects, and improve process capability.
  • Troubleshoot product issues involving designs, materials, tooling, equipment, or manufacturing processes.
  • Design, install, validate, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment, tooling, and processes.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality, increase capacity, simplify processes, and reduce manufacturing costs.
